The Skinny on Installing Palladiom Shades
Lutron offers a wide variety of features and applications, but one of the most popular offerings for smart home owners in the San Antonio area is the Lutron Palladiom shading system. These motorized shades are specifically built to provide a sleek, refined aesthetic with smooth, quiet performance. In short, Palladiom shades are designed to not only look great, but offer an outstanding level of performance and reliability, as well.
While adding Palladiom shades to your home offers many benefits and helps increase your home’s appeal, installing them in your smart home is a slightly more involved process. Many motorized blinds can be installed on a DIY basis, but Palladiom shades are hardwired directly into your home and can only be installed by an authorized Lutron dealer. Here are some other helpful items to consider for those interested in Palladiom shaes.
Great for New Builds and Custom Homes
If there was one caveat or downfall to the Palladiom shading system, it’s that it must be hardwired into your home’s electrical system; there is no wireless or battery-powered option avaiable. That means that installing Palladiom shades requires connecting them into the electrical system in your home, which can be challenging for a fully-built home. As such, we strongly recommend getting your Palladiom shades installed during the home building process. That way, you can avoid the mess and hassle of having to cut and then repair your drywall. While installing Palladiom shades in an existing home is possible, it does tend to become a bit more of an involved project. Best to coordinate with your home builder early on in the process and avoid the headache altogether.
Rely on Panel Control
Don’t get us wrong – we love integrating systems together. That being said, the Palladiom keypads specifically designed to work seamlessly with the Palladiom shading system. These subtle, sleek control pads make it easy to operate your window shades (and lights, for that matter) from one location while also enhancing your home’s décor and aesthetic. Adding a centralized control panel also eliminates the need for having panels in each room, and makes it easy to operate your entire system from one central hub.
The catch, however, again comes with the required processes to install such as system. Since all the shades are hardwired, installing one in an existing home would be quite challenging. Again, it’s not impossible, per se, but the time and cost would be much higher than if it were to be installed in an unfinished, still under construction home.
Only Available from Your Lutron Dealer
As part of their effort to ensure their products are correctly installed and set-up, Lutron Palladiom shading systems are not sold to the general public, and are only available through authorized Lutron dealers. Therefore, when you’re ready to start your custom home build and are considering Lutron Palladiom shades, be sure to reach out to your local Lutron dealer to partner with them when starting your project.
